What to expect in a Story Circle
Settling
We will start by lighting a candle and settling ourselves. You might choose to light a candle too. I will share a short reading or poem related to the theme.
2. Check-in
A short ‘check-in’ to introduce ourselves to the rest of the circle.
3. Storytelling
I will introduce a theme and ask you to share a piece of your experience around this theme, if and as you are moved to do so. There will be an opportunity for each member of the circle to speak but there is no requirement to speak.
4. reflection and discussion
Once everyone who wishes to has shared, without going back into anyone’s story, we will reflect on common themes that may have emerged and how, perhaps these are resonating with us.
5. Closing the circle
I will ask everyone to share a word or phrase in farewell and I will close the meeting with a few words myself and we will extinguish our candles.
